MOM’S night OUT – ARE WE DOING IT WRONG?

When our infants were about 8 months old, my mom’s group (10 women with infants born in October 04) began having a monthly Mom’s night Out. At least 8 of us went to the very first few as well as it was incredibly fun. Attendance began to dwindle, although we keep our monthly date, as well as at least a few people have gone out monthly for nearly three years now. We normally go to dinner as well as stay for two hours.

Then, people began having second babies, other commitments, working late, as well as having late-working husbands. satisfying at 7.45 ended up being our standard. That’s when a lot of people might arrive, whether they had to put the new infant to bed, wait on their partners to get house from exercise class, or something else. I started to get frustrated. I discovered myself being the die-hard MNO advocate (I went out with the mommies seven days after providing birth to #2. Of course, #2 came with us…), however I am fearing that we’re doing it wrong.

My personal circumstance is that if I don’t have to go out up until 7.45, then I am offered to feed my youngsters as well as get them prepared for bed, as well as even be a bit useful with my husband’s dinner. This, I find, does not feel like a night off. (Maybe I misinterpreted as well as the concept is not a night off, just a night out?) It feels like a extremely routine night as well as then when Julian is having his books checked out by Daddy, I go as well as state “Good night, I’m going out.” I believe I’m missing out on about 10 minutes of kid time. Scarlett has already been asleep for 30 minutes.

Just this week, I started up a MNO with my preschool moms. As much as I dislike to do it, I suggested 8 pm as the satisfying time, since I would rather have high attendance at a later hour than low attendance earlier. From experience, it seems like 7 pm is just unrealistic for so lots of people. There are not funding letters big sufficient to reveal exactly how much I would like to eat dinner AT 7 PM THAN 8 PM! Hmph.

Internets, do you choose MNOs with friends? What are the schedules? What are the excuses??!!
